Last night we got a package of books, music and clothes from my Aunt and Uncle. Isaac got a ton of adorable clothes, including a blue velour track suit! My favorite are these jammies. They have guitars all over and are very similar to some jammies he has almost outgrown.

Today was big time lame, but one of the highlights was getting this little card from Isla, after I picked her feverish little self up from my friend's house 5 hours later than I planned.

Monday was a beautiful cool January day...perfect for the Moby Wrap.
(I happen to know that the woman who started the Moby company lives in the sweltering CA central valley. She must wear only a Moby Wrap in the summer because wearing the 7 yards of knit is like...well, like wrapping yourself up in 7 yards of knit.) I have two lovely wraps & I'm going to break a rule and post two pictures, because when we got back from our walk, Isla transformed one wrap into Rapunzel hair. Here she is dancing to "When Will My Life Begin?"
This was shot with the poster effect - not really sure what that does.

#22 - Sitting Up (with support)!

My friend Rachel gave us this Bebepod & Isaac seems to like it. He is a little young for it, but given that we need to keep him off his head as much as possible to avoid a helmet, he gets to start spending some time in it now. He can actually sit up a little more than he is in this picture. I love his outfit today - Isla picked it all out and every piece is huge and is one half of a set. Maybe tomorrow I'll dress him in a doggy shirt with grey sweats and SF Giants shorts and then he'll have worn the complete outfits.

Isla got a scooter from her God Parents for Christmas and she loves it! It is a Disney Fairy Scooter, which adds to the allure. We took a walk / scoot this afternoon.

#19 - Polite as a Princess

We started two new traditions - a manner / life lesson each week and a capital letter each week.
The letter is just for kicks - a little exposure to letters and words that start with them and because Isla is interested. I'm not a fan of pushing any of this too early because I want Isla to be engaged and motivated when she learns everything in school.
The manner lesson is because we all could use a little review. :-) This week is, "Say Thank You." It is a great dinner topic and having it up on the board is a good reminder throughout the day.
If I can I'd like to add an activity related to nature each week too.

Isla is the sweetest little sleeper. Lately she always wants to sleep in a skirt. We went to her friend, Charlotte's house today and Isla borrowed her rainbow heart shirt after her own shirt got wet during water painting. She wanted to sleep in the shirt too. Taken with suppressed flash. Isla has been using her paci at night only for almost a year now. I have no motivation, other than some mild and vague sense of guilt, to get rid of it.

Two of my amazing mommy friends, Amanda (& Baby Samuel) and Marisela (& Baby #3). On my first day of the MA program I had no idea that I was meeting the women who would become some of my closest friends and a tremendous source of support in the years to come. We've shared the emotional ups and downs of trying to conceive, pregnancy, birth, newborns, babies, toddlers, preschoolers and all that comes with it. I feel so blessed when I think about my amazing Mama friends!
Isla has been blessed too! She has some wonderful sweet little friends!

Isla picked out her entire outfit today! Look how long her hair is getting. She wants to grow it long like Rapunzel. Here's a peek at her oragnization system in her room. She keeps her toys in those clear bins and is doing great learning to put things away on her own. Her tonsils are so huge right now it looks like she has something in her mouth. I miss the germ free summer months.

Isla started getting Lady Bug as a Christmas present from her Grandpa Tony & Grandma Teddy. The first issue had this little cut and past winter cottage. Isla is STILL sick with the never ending morphing cold, so this was a fun little project. Shot with "fisheye" feature.

We had another movie night - & Isla is still wearing her pumpkin jams (she did wear something else during the day, I promise). We watched Isla's new copy of Beauty & The Beast through the dance scene. (No need for Isla to watch "Kill the Beast" and the castle battle.) Isla crawled on Andrew's lap whenever she got scared. Isla now wants a Beauty (but not Beast) birthday. Too late! We are already committed to Rapunzel!

We got the Cars 2 cookie stamp cutters from Williams-Sonoma on sale after Christmas. We haven't seen Cars 2, but with one Cars fanatic and another up and coming fanatic, it seemed like a worthwhile investment. I was thrilled with the results! ...and yes, Halloween dies hard around here.

Well, three days in & I already forgot to take pictures! I'm not too surprised or concerned & I know it won't be the last time. Other than Auntie Nell's visit, Tuesday was a day that could have been over before it started. So here's a picture from the day before - 1-2-12. Isla got a new blanket from my friend Emi & she is doing "yoga." She is also wearing her favorite "princess monkey jammies and sleeping tutu." She takes after me and would live in jammies if she could.

We went to the beach today. In & Out, a very windy day, lots of kite surfers, tons of shells washed up from winter surf, and the one spot on the coast that wasn't fogged in = a beautiful beach trip. Isla fell in and swallowed some sea water. She says it tastes like salt and pepper. (This is the beach mode. I was so scared of dropping the camera that I just took two pictures.)

#1 - Happy New Year!

My first photo & I didn't even take it...Andrew did. But, he used a special feature to downplay the glare from the light next to Isaac's chair, and I was the baby wrangler. I also made the ribbon and birthed the baby, so I'm taking some credit. Isaac was not a happy camper about taking these photos, but neither was his sister when we took hers two years ago.

I completely borrowed this idea from this blog. I love how her daily photos seem to capture their family life more than her blog does. We also just got a new camera, and I have never been comfortable doing more than just the "auto" button on any of our cameras, so I thought I'd take the plunge...
