#71 Girls Just Want to Have Fun!

Isla and her churro! She is working so hard at looking at the camera and smiling, but clearly she isn't totally comfortable yet.
Isla and I had a special Mama / Daughter Date today. We shopping and then out to eat at Rubio's (Isla's choice). It was really wonderful to spend 1:1 time together. I'd forgotten all the fun we had running around together. Oh, we still have fun with Isaac, it just isn't as spontaneous. This is a wonderful perk of bottle feeding.

We've had some lovely weather. Isla and Charlotte celebrated by going topless. We've crossed an amazing threshold in Isla's play skills. Isla and Charlotte played together without assistance or interruption for 2 straight hours today. They had some complex picnic hospital game going that incorporated the TV show "Super Why." Gretchen & I decided to let them play as long as they could to see how long it could go, but by 4:30 we had to call it quits. Amazing!

See's Candies suckers are peanut & treenut free. Isla LOVES them! Right now she has an elaborate super star chart & is earning stars for "listening the first time." If she gets the requite number of stars in a day she gets an edible treat and a sticker. The sticker is for another chart. When she gets 9 stickers she gets a sleeping beauty bathtime barbie doll. She is pretty amped!

Isla's friend Ethan gave her an art set with OVER 1000 pieces in it. Andrew just about died. He hates toys with lots of pieces. I, on the other hand, realized that I would have died to get my hands on this art kit as a child. Here's Isla learning the art of water color from her Dad.

Isla got this Princess Bedtime Book for her birthday. She LOVES it! The only problem is that Rapunzel didn't make it in the book so she asks me to retell all the stories to incorporate aspects of Rapunzel into them. I can still see Baby Isla when I look at this picture. LOVE!

Andrew & I are forever trying to convince people of Isaac's weird head shape. (Luckily the Dr's do not need convincing.) The problem is, you have to be in an odd angle to see it. Here's a poor attempt to capture it on camera. The one thing this does show is how different his ears are. This was taken almost directly behind him. The ears are a little more lined up, but not completely. Also, on the left side of the photo, there is no shadow at the base of his skull where it sloops in because it does not slope in. It is flat. It is hard to see, but the dark shadows on his skull are actually indentations.
